Sorgham Festival Y'all!
Aaaahhh yes....it is that time of year again. This weekend was the annual Sorgham festival. One of our family's most favorite events to attend. The food was fantastic. We got hotdogs-all the way (Slaw, Chili, Onions and Mustard), homeade fried apple pies, BBQ sandwich's and fresh squeezed lemonade. They also had Brunswick Stew, Sorgham and homeade apple butter you could buy. There was live blue-grass music that we sat and watched. Alot of the people in the crowd got up and got "jiggy" with it, but we were content to watch and listen. Vince gave his hillarious commentary, which those of you who know him know what I am talking about....he always has me in tears from laughter. The music was great and it reminded me of the music in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou"....if you like that kind of music, you would love this.
While walking along the vending area, there was an authentic Cowboy re-inactment where they shoot guns at each other in the middle of the crowd (don't worry, they are just blanks!). As you can see from the picture, they started shooting within 5 feet of me.....BTW....this cowboy didn't make it in the fight....buy hey, that's what happens when you "steal them there cattle...." All in all, it was a great time and lots of fun and we can't wait until next year.

"One can never be too prepared....."
Hello and welcome to my Blog! I must confess, I am copying two of my High School pals - Shannon and Vanessa and joining the bandwagon in starting my own Blog. What a fantastic way of keeping up with all of you and journaling my life experiences for all to read. I hope you enjoy and check back frequently to catch up on our lives!
FYI - Jake found all of his ties this week......He thought it would be fun to see how many he could get on at once....
